As a therapist, my core values are compassion, collaboration, and empowerment. I believe deeply in my clients. Given a safe, supportive space to discover our strengths – and maybe a few new tools! – we all have the potential to thrive.
I work with adults, teens (ages 13 and up), and couples. I provide affirming support for clients of all identities, and particularly love working with LGBTQIA+, trans and gender nonconforming, and neurodivergent folks, as well as people with disabilities and chronic health conditions.
I became a psychotherapist in midlife, after prior careers as a social justice activist and an attorney. I have deep empathy for clients who are navigating the complexities of demanding jobs, parenting, midlife transitions, and career changes. I have a compassionate and grounded presence, and I bring humor and warmth to hard conversations.
My approach to therapy is humanistic and psychodynamic. That means that I believe every person has unique strengths and inherent value, and that our daily struggles have deep roots in our past experiences. I bring an inclusive feminist lens to my work, and I use a variety of techniques, including somatics, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
If we work together, we can explore how your experiences impact you as a whole person – body, heart, and mind. My approach is trauma-informed and client-centered, so we will slow down and go at a pace that works for you.
Please contact me or schedule a free 20-minute consultation, so we can see if we are a good fit. I look forward to speaking with you!
