Even during moments that feel like a tremendous struggle, all individuals have strengths that help them survive. No matter where you are in your personal journey, my role is to listen, observe, and highlight the strengths and resilience you already have, in order to foster hope and self-efficacy. Together, we will also identify opportunities to develop new skills and strategies that will serve you in reaching your therapeutic goals.
My therapeutic demeanor is warm, friendly, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. I believe that emotional well being is deeply interconnected with all other dimensions of human life — physical, social, spiritual, environmental, and more. I strive to take a holistic approach to your mental health journey by considering a range of factors that may impact your health. Together, we will look for moments to exercise personal agency to create shifts in your life and well being.
Prior to joining the team at BAPTI, I worked as a therapist for adolescents with eating disorders and dual diagnoses in the residential treatment setting, providing individual, group and family therapy. I have also worked in several school settings providing individual therapy to kids and adolescents with a range of presenting challenges.
I completed my M.A. in Counseling at Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling. Hallmarks of my graduate work included an exploration of trauma-informed care, social justice, cultural competency, adolescents, self-concept, and social media. As an undergraduate, I received my B.A. from Emory University, where I concentrated my studies in Anthropology and Human Health.
It is always important to find the right fit between therapist and client, since the therapeutic relationship will be the foundation of the therapy journey. If you think we may be a good fit, please do not hesitate to reach out via phone or email, and I will be happy to speak with you about next steps.
