Welcome - I’m glad you’re here. Finding a therapist that is a good fit for you can feel daunting, so I’ll share some information that can help you make this important decision.
I often work with clients who are in the midst of a life transition, such as becoming a parent, blending families, considering a career or lifestyle change, or navigating a loss. I also work with clients who are seeking deeper understanding of patterns in their life that may no longer serve them, including people pleasing, perfectionism, or relationships that don’t meet their needs. I enjoy working with clients to help them listen to their inherent wisdom and use their unique strengths to build a life that is more aligned with their deepest values and hopes. In working with couples, my approach is to help each partner better understand their own reactions and their partner’s to communicate more effectively and move forward in a way that works for each person.
My work is informed by my formal training as a therapist and my life experience. I worked in the corporate and tech worlds for 15 years, so I understand the challenges of those environments. I have also built and run programs to address gender bias and discrimination, and to provide community support and information for people grieving the loss of a loved one.
My style is relational and non-judgmental. My approach is integrative, meaning that I use a variety of theoretical orientations including humanistic and existential (considering what matters and creates meaning for each of us), psychodynamic and attachment-based (examining how our early experiences may impact our patterns today), and post-modern (taking into account the ways the systems in which we live affect our experiences).
