Therapy is a unique process where the focus is on you. I strongly believe that therapy should provide you with a place to authentically express yourself and meet your individualized needs. It is my task to create an accepting, warm and collaborative setting where you will feel safe to be seen and heard.

Therapy can help reduce suffering and promote greater self-awareness and insight, allowing for an increased ability to make choices that are a true reflection of your inner self. Other benefits include establishing a stronger presence of mind and body to better tolerate life’s intense challenges and to more fully embrace joy and contentment. The transformative nature of the therapy process can lead to greater vitality and self-expression in many areas including career and relationships and promote a heightened capacity to comprehend life’s deeper meaning.

MY AREAS OF FOCUS

COMPLEX TRAUMA

Trauma can persist as underlying behavioral and cognitive patterns and constellations of emotions that can cause clients to live unfulfilled lives. My clinical training has focused on supporting clients to heal from complex trauma as well as assisting them to restore their sense of self esteem and identity in the world. I have a passion for assisting clients in their recovery from these wounds and in finding their true nature and spirit.  I also utilize Brainspotting to support people with reducing symptoms and gaining understanding of their trauma responses.

COUPLES

Today, you may have challenging relationships with your partner. Perhaps you avoid conflict because you get anxious and don’t know what to say when someone is angry with you. Emotionally, you may shut down, go numb or explode. You may fear that your partner will leave you or that you don’t need anyone. The good news is I understand these complicated patterns and can help you to heal. I can help you to change your responses in your relationships and live life on your terms. You can respond to life, without being overwhelmed by emotions or by limiting beliefs. I can help you and your partner feel more emotionally connected and communicate with compassion.

MY APPROACH

My work with individuals, couples and adolescents is culturally-sensitive and supportive. My approach is relational and varied. I am most interested in meeting you where you are, whether that is assisting you to find practical solutions to current life problems, exploring deeply-held pain based upon trauma, or supporting you to release entrenched behavioral or cognitive patterns that may no longer serve you. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship and welcome whatever you wish to bring into our sessions.
