I am a licensed psychologist and have been in private practice since 1984. Prior to that I worked in a high school counseling center, community clinic, and the inpatient psychiatric facility of Stanford University. I have been teaching and training therapists for over 20 years.
In my clinical practice I work with adults, families, and couples and with men in transition. My areas of expertise and experience include:
As a psychologist I seek to help clients identify their strengths as well as their vulnerabilities rather than to label or to categorize them. I work to assist them in marshalling their very best self in order to be able to successfully engage at life’s sometimes difficult junctures.
I see humans as complex and infinitely variable. I believe that we need to understand the many dimensions of our existence including the philosophical, the spiritual, and the psychological realms. My graduate degrees in philosophy, religion, and in clinical psychology, all contribute to my understanding of the complexity and diversity of individuals.
I welcome the opportunity to work with you in crossing the thresholds that are before you.
