My name is Lynn Davilla Shields. I am a clinical psychologist and have been with BAPTI since I was licensed twenty years ago. Over the years I have found much satisfaction working with an array of people–individual adults, and adolescents, as well as couples and families.
My approach is to view each person’s situation and personality as unique and to base my treatment on that person’s particular set of challenges and needs.
I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy and integrate them so as to be maximally beneficial.
Although I specialize in Eating Disorders, I work a lot with Depression, Anxiety, trauma and relational issues.
And finally, I’d like you to know that I do bring my dog (Puff) to work with me most days. She is a hypo-allergenic breed (Bichon Frise) and happily stays in her crate if a client prefers not to have her out in the room.
Thanks for reading my bio.
